NEW - Cracklin Rose
Cracklin Rose is a field of fresh strawberries in a bottle dressed-up with a little rose water and the slightest hint of sweet pink peppercorns! We love this syrup in our iced coffee, tea, cocktails, in our homemade limeade, drizzled over ice cream, in a sweet vinaigrette salad dressing, or whipped into a homemade whipped cream or butter.
The History
This syrup was named after my middle sister, Caitlyn Rose. When we were little my dad nicknamed her Cracklin Rose after the Neil Diamond song, Cracklin Rosie. The Song Cracklin Rosie sounds like it is being sung about a beautiful woman full of life, but in actuality the song was written about a strawberry rose wine that Neil Diamond held fond summer memories of.
Cracklin Rose Limeade
2 oz fresh lime juice
2 oz Cracklin Rose syrup
2 oz water
Cracklin Rose Vinagerette
8 oz extra virgin olive oil
4 oz rose balsamic
2 tsp dijon mustard
Cracklin Rose syrup to taste
Salt to taste
Please Note: we put as many strawberries into each bottle as we can, the natural pectin in strawberries makes this syrup VERY thick, shake well before using!
